To attain our environmental goals, we constantly review best practice, monitor our environmental impact, and set quantitative targets to ensure a year-on-year reduction of our impact.

We are committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions year-on-year, normalised against our turnover, building footprint, and number of full-time equivalent (FTE) colleagues.
We are developing our roadmap to net zero but are aligned with UK and global climate goals to reach net zero across all Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
The Openwork Partnership continues to implement measures that improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions across our operations. These include:

Conducting energy audits under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) to identify opportunities to reduce gas and electricity consumption in our operational buildings.

Maintaining high-efficiency building standards, with our London and Swindon offices achieving Very Good or Excellent BREEAM ratings and performing strongly against typical office benchmarks.

Supporting low carbon travel with electric vehicle charging points, cycle-to-work schemes, and accessible public transport options.

Reducing the environmental impact of commuting by introducing a salary sacrifice car benefit scheme with Tusker, helping colleagues access brand new electric or plugin hybrid vehicles.

Promoting agile working practices and video conferencing to reduce unnecessary business travel and associated emissions.
Effective environmental management starts with accurate measurement. By tracking our total energy consumption, conducting detailed energy audits and pinpointing opportunities for improvement, we can drive greater efficiency and reduce our environmental impact across the business.
Transparency is equally important to us. We report our progress through recognised frameworks, including the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), the Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) regulations, and the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). These standards guide our approach and ensure our stakeholders have clear, consistent insight into our performance.
