The Openwork Foundation

The Openwork Foundation is the charitable heart of The Openwork Partnership. 

For over 45 years, we’ve brought together our advisers, colleagues and firms to support people facing difficult circumstances. We fund projects that make a tangible, lasting difference in communities across the UK and beyond. 

We come together to create meaningful impact by raising funds, awarding grants and backing charities that are changing lives every day. 

We help every pound raised go even further. The Openwork Partnership uplifts all funds (including Gift Aid) by 50%, transforming the collective efforts of our network into even greater support for the causes we believe in. 

Our strength lies in our people. Advisers and colleagues come together to support the causes that matter most to them by raising funds and helping shape how that support is delivered. 

The Foundation organises activities and events which bring people together including an annual overseas cycle, mass hiking events, golf days, balls and gala dinners.  

It’s this shared commitment that makes the difference. When thousands of people unite behind a common purpose, the impact is powerful and far-reaching. 

Our grants fund a wide range of UK-registered charities working with vulnerable people here and overseas, including: 

Each quarter we award grants to charities nominated by the people in our network. These range from small discretionary donations between £100 and £500 to grants of up to £15,000 to support specific projects. 

We also work with two strategic charity partners on a rolling three-year cycle, providing £50,000 to each charity per year. We’re currently partnered with Dementia UK and Young Enterprise on a funding cycle from 2024 to 2026. 

Our board of trustees and committees bring together expertise from across our partnership to ensure the Foundation is run responsibly and effectively. 

They oversee our governance, guide our strategy and support our funding decisions, ensuring every pound raised is used to deliver meaningful, measurable impact that benefits people in need.
