Morocco Cycle Challenge 2023 Update: Dades Valley to High Atlas Mountains

14/11/2023

Another awesome day in the saddle. Today, on our last cycle day, we went from the Dades Gorge to the Todgha Gorge, both with fantastic scenery.

As usual we started the day with a warm-up, led by Paul this time. I’m sure the local school children found our salsa moves quite entertaining!

We then went off for the main climb, 16 kms uphill. It was manageable, as we were now all super fit. Sadly, Guy added another 2 falls to his already very long list, and Donna also had a look at a gravel road from too close up. Luckily no serious injuries.

After a bit of downhill, we arrived at our lunch, which was again very well prepared by our travelling chefs. When Ramon and Bill were done with playing some child games, we set off for the long descent towards the finish line.

The scenery was truly amazing and we made really good time. After 240 kms of mountains, valleys and gorges, Davy Sinclair had the honour to cross the line first, followed by the newbies Helen, Matt, Adam and myself, and then rest of the gang.

Thank you to all for making this such a fantastic experience, it was an honour to be part of the 2023 Morocco Cycle Challenge.
