For many successful advisers, the journey into financial services is anything but conventional. For Jack Neale, Owner, Director and Adviser at MyMny Mortgage Advice, it’s a career built on people skills, trust, and a deep commitment to doing the right thing for clients.
Backed by the strength of The Openwork Partnership, Jack combines independence, expertise and a highly personal approach to deliver outstanding outcomes for his clients.
A career built on people, not products
Jack’s route into advice reflects a diverse and valuable background that continues to shape his approach today.
“I began my career in entertainment and advertising, where I quickly learned that people buy people, not products, a principle that has shaped my approach ever since.”
This early experience laid the foundation for what would become a client-first philosophy. Jack’s transition into financial services began with HSBC, where he developed strong technical and regulatory expertise.
“I moved into financial services with HSBC as a Trainee Financial Planning Manager, gaining a strong grounding in regulated advice and client care.”
With a clear desire to provide clients with broader choice and better outcomes, Jack made the move into independent advice.
“After two years, I chose to become an employed independent mortgage broker so I could offer clients genuine access to the whole of the market rather than a restricted range of solutions.”
Over time, Jack has built extensive experience across FCA-regulated environments, holding senior and management roles that have strengthened his expertise in advice, compliance, leadership and strategy.
Building MyMny: a client-first approach
Nine years ago, Jack founded MyMny with a clear and compelling vision.
“MyMny was founded nine years ago with a clear purpose: to deliver the best possible client experience while giving me the ability to work in a way that supports both my clients and my lifestyle.”
Today, MyMny is a boutique consultancy known for its personalised service, trusted relationships and long-term client focus.
This balance of professionalism and personalisation is exactly what many clients are looking for, particularly when navigating complex financial decisions.
Specialist expertise in a growing market
Jack has developed deep expertise in an increasingly important area of financial advice.
“Equity release and later-life lending, supporting clients who are looking to borrow, restructure existing commitments, or plan more effectively in later life. This is a growing and evolving market that I find both professionally engaging and personally rewarding.”
Later-life lending is a complex and sensitive space, requiring both technical knowledge and a high degree of empathy. Jack’s ability to simplify complexity and provide clear guidance makes a meaningful difference to clients at an important stage of life.
Delivering impact at scale
One of the standout highlights of Jack’s career demonstrates not only his expertise, but his ability to deliver real impact on a national level.
“One of the highlights of my career was launching the government-backed Money Advice Service for consumers. I led the original face-to-face pilot across London and subsequently went on to manage its national rollout.”
This work came at a critical time, following the 2008 financial crisis, when access to clear and impartial advice was essential.
“During this period, I supported thousands of individuals and families, helping them navigate financial difficulty, regain control, and make more informed decisions at a time of real uncertainty.”
It’s a powerful example of Jack’s commitment to helping people make confident financial decisions, regardless of their circumstances.
What makes a great financial adviser?
For Jack, great advice is rooted in trust, clarity and communication.
“A good adviser makes clients feel comfortable and at ease, especially when discussing complex or sensitive financial matters.”
His approach focuses on simplifying complex topics so clients can make informed choices with confidence.
“I believe in keeping things simple, clear, and honest, so clients can make decisions with confidence rather than confusion.”
Clear communication remains central to everything he does.
“Clear communication is the most important part of what I do, and I pride myself on keeping it at the top of the agenda throughout every client relationship, from first conversation to long-term support.”
Strength in partnership
Being part of The Openwork Partnership enables Jack to combine personal service with the reassurance of a larger, well-established network.
“Being a part of The Openwork Partnership allows me to offer clients the best of both worlds. They benefit from a local, personal advisory service where relationships and accessibility matter, while also having the reassurance that their advice is supported by the strength, compliance, and resources of a large, well-established national organisation.”
This dual benefit is a key differentiator for advisers within the network.
“This structure gives clients confidence that they are receiving high-quality, well-governed advice, with robust support in place both now and in the future.”
It’s a model that empowers advisers like Jack to focus on what they do best: building relationships, delivering expert advice, and supporting clients over the long term.
A people-first career, inside and outside of finance
Before entering financial services, Jack’s career took a very different path, one that continues to influence his professional strengths today.
“Before my career in finance, I spent several years as an Entertainments Manager in a nightclub, booking some of the biggest DJ names of the late ’90s and early ’00s, from Judge Jules and Goldie to Dave Pearce and Boy George.”
“It was a great crash course in people skills, organisation, and staying calm under pressure.”
These transferable skills are evident in the way Jack engages with clients today: approachable, organised and calm in even the most complex situations.
