For advisers considering how to evolve their proposition, strengthen client outcomes or grow their business within a supportive network, Precise Life provides a strong example of what’s possible with a clear vision and the right partnership behind you.
Formerly operating as Carew & Co. Solutions, Precise Life has developed into a modern, protection‑focused advice business, centred on education, understanding and long‑term client relationships.
We spoke with owner Adam Carew about the journey so far.
A proposition built around clarity and protection
At the heart of Precise Life is a simple but powerful aim: to ensure clients not only have protection in place but truly understand why it matters.
“Precise Life is all about educating clients as to why protection is important to them and providing bespoke financial advice based on their situation,” says Adam.
After reviewing hundreds of policies over the years, the business identified a recurring issue across the advice market. Many clients held protection without being clear on what their cover did or how it would support them.
“We found that many people didn’t really know why they had these policies in place or what function they served. Financial advisers are often busy with mortgages or wealth management and protection can be overlooked – and we wanted to change that,” Adam explains.
Precise Life’s advice process focuses on tailored protection planning, supported by clear explanation and education. Clients are engaged, informed and confident in their decisions, leading to stronger outcomes and long‑term relationships.
A rebrand that reflects values
The transition from Carew & Co. Solutions to Precise Life was driven by a desire for the brand to better reflect the firm’s values and way of working.
“It’s important for your brand to represent your values, and Precise Life does that far better for us,” says Adam. “It also adds a more personal touch. We’re a young firm and our branding represents that.”
Beyond the visual identity, the name Precise Life reflects the firm’s commitment to clarity, relevance and bespoke advice.
“Making sure we deliver precise financial advice when it comes to protection and creating relationships where clients truly understand their recommendations down to a tee - is what Precise Life represents for us and our clients,” Adam adds.
Supporting clients through real‑world financial pressures
Precise Life works with clients from all walks of life, but one challenge consistently underpins conversations today: the rising cost of living.
“Whether it’s increasing interest rates or energy costs, clients are feeling the pressure,” says Adam. Through tailored protection advice and clear communication, the firm helps clients feel more secure during periods of uncertainty.
An advice philosophy rooted in relationships
A key focus for Precise Life is its relationship‑led advice philosophy.
“A great relationship allows us to really understand the client and provide advice that genuinely fits them,” Adam explains. “It also allows us to break down information in a way that suits how they think and absorb detail. Everyone is different, and we take pride in really getting to know our clients on a personal level.”
This approach not only improves understanding, but helps clients engage more confidently with their financial decisions, something Adam believes is still lacking across much of the market.
“Not enough firms are putting that level of effort into truly knowing their clients,” he says.
Why Openwork?
Choosing to operate as part of The Openwork Partnership was a deliberate and strategic decision.
“Openwork’s flexibility and support systems were a big reason I chose to operate as part of the Partnership,” says Adam. “Having the support of my PDM has helped open up new opportunities to grow the business and even explore avenues I might never have considered if I wasn’t part of the network.”
For advisers considering their next step, this balance of independence and structured support is often a defining factor in joining Openwork.
Enabling advisers to focus on what matters most
Day‑to‑day, being part of Openwork allows Precise Life to focus its time and energy where it truly counts.
“It allows me to focus on running and growing the business rather than getting tied up in administration,” Adam explains. “That means I can spend more time talking to clients and advising them, which is the core of what we do and leads to better outcomes for everyone.”
Measuring success through client impact
Rather than measuring success through individual milestones, Adam sees the real impact of the business in client outcomes.
“My proudest moments are when I help clients through difficult times,” he says. “When a client makes a claim and receives a life‑changing amount of money to support them and their family - that’s what makes me proud to be an adviser.”
Those moments reinforce the value of clear, well‑structured protection advice and the difference it can make when clients need it most.
Balancing growth with long‑term relationships
As Precise Life continues to grow, maintaining strong client relationships remains central to how the business operates.
“It’s about making time for existing clients and having the right systems in place,” Adam explains. “Whether that’s regular communication or small touches like birthday messages, those things matter and help maintain long‑term relationships.”
Advice for advisers considering change
For advisers thinking about rebranding, evolving their proposition or joining a network, Adam’s advice is straightforward.
“Make sure there are clear reasons behind whatever you decide to do, reasons that make sense for your firm and benefit your future clients in the long run,” he says.
Looking ahead
Looking to the future, Precise Life plans to continue expanding and is preparing to open a wealth management arm alongside its established protection proposition.
“I’m excited about helping more clients - that’s what we strive to do every single day,” Adam says.
With a clear vision, strong values and the backing of The Openwork Partnership, Precise Life is focused on delivering advice that makes a genuine difference.
