Data Protection

All of the information supplied by you and any third parties in connection with this application will be held by Openwork as Data Controller under the UK General Data Protection Regulation.

The information you provide will be processed by Openwork or its chosen vetting provider for the purpose of assessing your suitability to represent us.  This may include undertaking credit checks and seeking references for the purposes of verification, identification and in accordance with our regulatory requirements to verify your fitness and propriety.

Should you change your mind before your application is complete, we will retain your personal information for 6 months to enable us to deal with any regulatory and commercial activities such as de-registration with the regulator and/ or panel providers, to deal with any associated queries or, where relevant, if you re-apply.  Please note, we have different retention policies where your application is declined by Openwork and for when you join us and then leave; please contact us if you require this information.

We may share relevant personal information with other companies Openwork are or become associated with and agents acting on behalf of Openwork to comply with our regulatory obligations, the regulator and for ongoing administration and management information purposes.  We will only share information with companies who comply with the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.  We don’t transfer outside the European Economic Association (EEA), but if we do, we will ensure that the appropriate safeguards are put in place, and we will notify you accordingly  

Criminal convictions

We ask for these details from you in order that we may comply with our regulatory obligations and all information supplied within the application form will be used as described above.

In addition to this, Openwork may use your personal details to perform a Standard Disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.  The return would be sent directly to you and the onus is then on you to provide a copy to Openwork for our vetting and application requirements.  Information obtained via a Disclosure and Barring Service will be stored separately to any other of your personal information and only for a maximum of 6 months before being destroyed securely.

By submitting this application to us you give your consent for us to apply for this on your behalf and the processing of your sensitive data in this way.
